Bishop Picachy had taken Mother Rose Marie
to different missions outposts of the diocese for her to see
and select a place for her sisters.

Mother Rose Marie was happy with Mosaboni,
a copper mining area as an ideal place
for re-launching the works of St. Emilie.

 

Grateful to the mercy Sisters for their three months warm hospitality and acclimatization,
the Sisters set foot at Mosaboni
on October 1, 1966 on the feast of
St. Theresa of the Child Jesus,
patroness of the missions.

Bishop Picachy blessed the bungalow allotted by the authorities of the copper mines and the first foundation in India got started.

A school run by Mrs. Walwork
on behalf of the Jesuits of Jamshedpur
was handed over to the sisters.

They were also inducted
into the pastoral work of the parish.

 

Within a few months
Mother Bartholomeo,
the Superior general
appointed Sr. Patricia Coogan
as the superior of the community
at Mosaboni.

Three more Sisters
came away from Burma
to rejoin their companions,
Sr. Christiane Marie in 1967,
Sisters Celina and Ann in 1972.

Today after almost 40 years,
the school in Mosaboni has
over two thousand students and
a branch school at Moubandar,
10 K. M. away from
the main school.

 

The rich and poor alike have the opportunity
to educate their wards
from Nursery to higher secondary level,
with all the facilities in the three stream of
science, Commerce and Arts.

The Sisters are engaged in
the pastoral ministry of the parish too
in Mosaboni, Jaduguda and Mobandar.
